It becomes difficult to focus. Difficult to plan. Difficult to learn. Difficult to grow. Difficult to hope. The House of Manna was born from a conviction that no family should have to carry that burden alone.
This organization represents the intersection of several experiences that have shaped my life: my faith, my professional career, my entrepreneurial journey, and my personal experiences with hardship. I grew up in the church and developed a passion for community development at an early age. Today, I serve as a District Elder within International Bible Way under the leadership of Bishop Justin O’Neal Marcus of the Northeastern Regional Diocese. Throughout my life, I have seen firsthand how communities are strengthened when people come together to serve one another.
That passion became even more personal during my college years. At twenty years old, I lost the financial support I needed to complete my education. As a result, I was forced to move into my sister’s apartment and sleep on her couch for nearly three years while I worked to complete my degree and rebuild my life.
During that season, I found myself standing in food bank lines. I remember looking around and realizing something that has never left me. While my circumstances were difficult, many people around me were facing even greater challenges. Some were struggling to feed their children. Some were battling health issues. Some were facing homelessness. Some simply had nowhere else to turn.
I have experienced financial hardship. But I have never gone hungry. And even during my most difficult seasons, God always made a way for me. That realization created a responsibility that I have carried ever since. If I have been blessed with the ability to build businesses, develop professional expertise, and create opportunities, then I also have a responsibility to use those gifts to help others.
The House of Manna exists because I believe every person deserves the freedom to think, grow, and live. When families have access to food, they can focus on their future. When students have access to opportunity, they can discover new possibilities. When communities have access to resources, they can begin to thrive.
The House of Manna was not created simply to distribute food. It was created to restore hope. It was created to create opportunity. It was created to strengthen communities. It was created to help people move beyond survival and toward possibility.
This prospectus represents our vision for what that future can look like. I invite you to join us. Together, we can create opportunity. Together, we can restore hope. Together, we can strengthen communities. Together, we can provide the freedom to think, grow, and live.
Executive Vision
The House of Manna was founded upon a simple observation: when people are worried about feeding their families, nothing else matters. Food insecurity is not merely a hunger problem — it is an opportunity problem, an education problem, a workforce problem, a health problem, and a community problem. Most importantly, it is a hope problem. The House of Manna exists to help remove those barriers, so every person can move beyond survival and toward possibility.
The nonprofit sector is filled with organizations doing incredible work: food banks feed families, schools educate students, churches provide spiritual support, and workforce organizations prepare people for careers. The House of Manna brings these ideas together into a single ecosystem. The Pantry addresses today’s challenges. The Academy addresses tomorrow’s opportunities. The Community Platform creates connection. The Commerce Engine creates sustainability — balancing compassion with empowerment.
Organizational Positioning Statement
The House of Manna is a faith-inspired, publicly charitable organization that addresses both immediate needs and long-term opportunity through food assistance, entrepreneurship education, financial literacy, career discovery, and community development initiatives designed to provide individuals and families with the freedom to think, grow, and live.
What We Stand On
Every decision, program, partnership, and initiative within House of Manna should support at least one of five core organizational pillars — the foundation upon which the organization is built.
Hope is the foundation of transformation. When people lose hope, they often lose the motivation to pursue change. The House of Manna seeks to restore hope by demonstrating that opportunity exists, resources are available, and communities care. Hope is not simply inspiration — it is the belief that tomorrow can be better than today. Through food assistance, education, mentorship, career exposure, community partnerships, and personal development, House of Manna helps individuals rediscover possibility.
Families facing food insecurity often struggle to focus on long-term goals because immediate needs require immediate attention. The House of Manna Pantry exists to provide food assistance in a manner that protects dignity, reduces stress, and creates space for growth. Food assistance is not the final destination — it is the first step toward stability, creating the opportunity for individuals to focus on education, employment, financial planning, and personal growth.
Entrepreneurship creates opportunity. Ownership creates mobility. The House of Manna Academy exposes students and participants to entrepreneurship as a pathway toward economic empowerment. This doesn’t mean every participant will become a business owner — but every participant should understand how businesses operate, how opportunities are identified, and how value is created. Whether participants pursue entrepreneurship, traditional employment, higher education, or skilled trades, exposure to ownership remains a critical component of long-term success.
Communities grow stronger when people work together. The House of Manna believes meaningful transformation occurs when families, schools, churches, businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, and community leaders unite around a shared mission. Rather than operating independently from the community, House of Manna seeks to become a platform that strengthens existing relationships and expands collective impact — creating opportunities for individuals to contribute, serve, lead, and participate in positive change.
Charitable impact shouldn’t depend entirely on annual fundraising campaigns. The House of Manna seeks to demonstrate that successful businesses can become powerful contributors to community transformation. Through funding partners, sponsorships, grants, donations, and future business ventures, the organization is building a sustainable funding model capable of supporting long-term impact — allowing it to plan confidently, grow responsibly, and serve consistently.
Chapter Two · Ecosystem Overview
Many nonprofits are built around a single mission — feeding families, or education, or workforce development, or community outreach. House of Manna was intentionally designed differently: not as a collection of disconnected programs, but as an ecosystem in which each component supports and strengthens the others. Food assistance creates stability. Education creates opportunity. Community creates connection. Commerce creates sustainability — together generating both immediate impact and long-term transformation.
Creating opportunity through entrepreneurship education and skill development.
Meeting immediate family needs through dignified food assistance.
Bringing resources directly into underserved communities.
Connecting students, families, volunteers, sponsors, and partners.
Providing sustainable funding through business partnerships.
Whether through giving, sponsorship, or volunteering your time, there’s a place for you in the House of Manna ecosystem.
